Shambhu Dayal College, Ghaziabad, marked World Environment Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to ecological sustainability. The entire event was meticulously organised and executed under the inspiring guidance and dynamic leadership of the Principal, Dr. Rochna Mittal.
The day’s program aimed to sensitive students and staff about pressing environmental issues and the immediate need for sustainable practices.
The event kicked off with a massive sapling plantation drive across the college campus, led by Dr. Mittal and senior faculty members, aiming to enhance the institution’s green cover.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rochna Mittal emphasised the vital role of the youth in spearheading environmental conservation. She urged the students to integrate eco-friendly habits into their daily routines, reminding everyone that protecting the planet is a shared responsibility that begins at the grassroots level.
The successful celebration concluded with an “Eco-Pledge,” where students and faculty members formally committed to reducing their carbon footprint and safeguarding the environment for future generations.
